October 2026 Tool Deals
Every link below is an affiliate link. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it funds the price tracking behind this list. Read the full disclosure.
How to read this list
A deal only makes this list if it passes three checks: the price is genuinely below what the tool has sold for recently (checked against price history, not the retailer's "was" price), the tool itself is worth owning at full price, and I've compared it across Acme Tools, KC Tool, Amazon, and Home Depot to name the best current price. If a listing fails any of those, it's not here.
A note on the examples below: the deals shown are sample entries in the site's format. The operator updates this list as prices move, and entries are added or removed throughout the month. Treat any specific price mentioned as an example of the format, and always click through to confirm the live price before buying.
This month's deals
DeWalt 20V Max drill/driver + impact driver kit (2 batteries)
The classic starter kit, and the format deal-hunters should watch: two brushless tools, two batteries, charger, and bag. This bundle format is the backbone of DeWalt's holiday promotions, and October usually brings the first wave of pre-holiday pricing. Example of a good price on this kit: meaningfully below its typical non-sale price. If you see it at that level, it's a buy.
Milwaukee M18 Fuel hammer drill kit
Milwaukee's flagship drill rarely gets the dramatic discounts DeWalt hands out, so even a modest drop is notable. Watch for free-battery promotions rather than straight price cuts: retailers often bundle an extra 5.0Ah battery with M18 Fuel kits in the fall, which is effectively a discount on the total package. Example deal format: kit price at its usual level plus a free high-capacity battery.
Ryobi 18V One+ HP 6-tool combo kit
Home Depot's Ryobi combo kits are the perennial value champions, and October is when last year's kit configurations get cleared for the holiday lineup. These kits regularly drop to prices that work out to less per tool than buying any two tools separately. If you're starting a One+ collection from zero, a combo kit on clearance is the cheapest entry point of the year. Example deal format: previous-generation 6-tool kit at clearance pricing.
DeWalt DWS779 12" sliding miter saw
The DWS779 is the saw that defines miter saw deal season. Its price swings hundreds of dollars across the year, and October through December is when the low points land. If you've been waiting on this saw, this is the window. Example deal format: the saw at or near its historical low, which past holiday seasons have established clearly in the price history.
Makita 18V LXT brushless random orbit sander (bare tool)
Makita discounts are quieter than DeWalt's, but the LXT sander as a bare tool is the smart way to buy if you already own Makita batteries. Watch Acme Tools and KC Tool especially: the smaller specialty retailers sometimes undercut the big boxes on Makita by a real margin. Example deal format: bare tool priced below the big-box everyday price.
Home Depot installation services: seasonal booking window
Not a tool, but relevant: fall is when homeowners book flooring, water heater, and HVAC installations before winter, and Home Depot runs installation promotions alongside the product sales. If a project needs pro installation, bundling it with a product promotion can beat hiring separately. Example deal format: installation package discounted when booked with qualifying products.
Deals that didn't make the cut
In the interest of honesty: several heavily advertised October "sales" were skipped this month because the price history showed the "sale" price matched the everyday price from September. A red banner and a countdown timer don't make a discount. I'll keep calling those out, because that's the entire point of this site.
